Joe Hurley's 20th Century Boy: Marc Bolan & TRex 30th Anniversary Concert CelebrationMarking the sixtieth anniversary of Marc Bolan's birth and the thirtieth of his passing, this one night only event will showcase songs from Tyrannosaurus Rex through all the T.Rex favorites, including gems from the seminal Electric Warrior and The Slider and hit singles like “Ride A White Swan”, “Jeepster”, “Hot Love”, “Children of The Revolution”, “Telegram Sam”, “20th Century Boy” and of course, “Get It On (Bang A Gong.” A stellar group of musicians including Clem Burke (Blondie/drums); James Mastro (Ian Hunter/guitar); Tony Shanahan (Patti Smith Group/bass) and Tish & Snooky (Manic Panic/backing vocals) will back a glittering array of special guest singers to be announced shortly. Joe will be performing at FEZ for the Loser's Lounge Tribute to David Bowie. This is an encore presentation- Originally presented at Westbeth Theatre in Sept of 2001. Joe's version of 'Rock & Roll Suicide" was recorded at that show and is included on his CD "Live at the Loser's Lounge". He will reprise that performance at all of these shows. On Xmas Eve, he was badly injured in a car accident, and we are throwing this benefit to help him with his medical and living expenses. With Rogue's March off til the new year, chief Rogue/lead singer Joe Hurley, backed by an all-star band, will venture out into gig land with this pair of shows, where he will be playing a selection of brand new material, some rarely(if ever) performed RM songs, and possibly even a tune or two from 'Oliver'.(The greatest musical ever! Oxymoronic? You tell me.) Hurley's band will include Tony Shanahan(Patti Smith Group), James Mastro(Ian Hunter/Bongos-'CHASER' producer), Kenny Margolis(Cracker), and Sean Seymour(Other surprise guests will also be joining them) These shows are a double-bill with Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3. Steve is an amazing talent who first shot to stardom with The Dream Syndicate(Days of Wine and Roses)in the '80s, and who has ever since been releasing first class r&r heart records. Steve and Joe have been talking about doing shows together for years, and to celebrate their finally having done so, they will be sharing vocal duties for a song or two...
