The acclaimed psych-horror film I Sell The Dead opens this Friday Aug. 7th at the Quad Cinema (34 W 13th St.) in NYC. Director Glen McQuaid recorded a raucous version of Joe Hurley performing the trad tune "Waxie's Dargle" for the film's soundtrack. Hurley's performance of the song takes place during the film's riotous tavern scene. - The film opens in LA August 14th and in Boston August 18th. Starting August 12th, the IFC film can be ordered through VOD.

He and his wife Katie started the group shortly before Timmy's death to help out other families afflicted by ALS, and Katie has continued the great work of this charity. - Through a series of serendipitious encounters and lovely happenstance, Joe will be joined onstage by three of his band-mates from the vintage NEVER FEAR line-up of Rogue's March - Billy Gerstel, Gary Johannes, Kenny Margolis and Joe will play together for the 1st time in a decade!

A good friend of the Irish Music Community in NYC, Bill Philips owns and operates the celtictv.com website. On Xmas Eve, he was badly injured in a car accident, and we are throwing this benefit to help him with his medical and living expenses. The night will start promptly at 7pm(running til 11pm)and will feature the best of the Irish and Irish-American acts in NYC. Slated to perform are the following...Pat McGuire, Marni Rice, The McCabes, The Itinerants, Joe Hurley and friends, Larry Kirwan(Black 47),Seanchai and the Unity Squad, Gregory Greene(the Prodigals), and many more. Oxymoronic? You tell me.) Hurley's band will include Tony Shanahan(Patti Smith Group), James Mastro(Ian Hunter/Bongos-'CHASER' producer), Kenny Margolis(Cracker), and Sean Seymour(Other surprise guests will also be joining them) These shows are a double-bill with Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3. Steve is an amazing talent who first shot to stardom with The Dream Syndicate(Days of Wine and Roses)in the '80s, and who has ever since been releasing first class r&r heart records. Steve and Joe have been talking about doing shows together for years, and to celebrate their finally having done so, they will be sharing vocal duties for a song or two...
